Parks and Recreation

Special Events

Throughout the year, the City of Huntington Woods Parks and Recreation Department offers a series of special programs designed for the enjoyment of children, family and adults.  For the most up to date information, refer to the HWP&R Events section of the Hometown Herald. There are several annual events you may want to keep in mind including:  The Adult Euchre Tournament (January); Daddy/Daughter Dance (January); Movies in the Gym (February); Adult or Teen Wild Rides (vary); Family Night (June or July); Concerts in the Park (June-July); Hay Day (October); and Breakfast with Santa (December).

All concerts are free and held on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm.
The first 4 concerts of the season will be held at Burton Park, with the last 2 concerts held at Scotia Park. In case of inclement weather, concerts may be moved to the Gillham Recreation Center. Food trucks will be featured at each concert, starting at 6:30 pm. Bring a blanket and/or lawn chair. Dogs are restricted to cement areas. No smoking is permitted in parks.

Annually, the City, local clubs & organizations and City officials come together to welcome our new residents.  This adults-only event alternates locations between the Library and Recreation Center and is typically held at the end of February or beginning of March.  Watch for information in the Winter or Spring Newsletter.  For more information, contact Charlene Nutton, Chair, at 248 547.9818.
