Sewer Utility Warranty Program
The City of Huntington Woods City Commission has partnered with an optional program available to homeowners that provides low-cost, worry-free warranty protection for sewer lines. The program is provided through the National League of Cities (NLC) and administered by Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA).

Recently, there have been solicitations by other companies offering sewer service line warranties. Please be aware, the coverage and costs offered by these other companies are not the same. SLWA is the only company that has partnered with the City and will be the only mailing that has the approval to use the City’s logo.

The National League of Cities Service Line Warranty program, administered by Service Line Warranties of America, offers citizens an affordable way to avoid the unexpected and often large expense involved with a sewer line break. When a line breaks, the cost to repair it can often cause hardship on a family’s budget. This program will offer warranty protection to help cover the costs of a break.

The City encourages residents to seek out their own research and carefully review the information provided from all companies. While the products may appear similar, residents should thoroughly review the terms and conditions and the organization offering each warranty to compare factors such as:
•    Fees and deductibles
•    Coverage caps or annual limits
•    Restrictions and coverage
•    Cost and discounts
•    Company history, reputation and online complaints
•    City Partnership
•    Better Business Bureau accreditation and complaints

For questions about the National League of Cities Service Line Warranty program, or to enroll, please contact Service Line Warranties of America at 888-442-7349.  Feel free to visit their web site at http://www.slwofa.com but we encourage you to sign up for the program by phone.
