Michelle Elder was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Huntington Woods City Commission on January 2019 then elected to the office in November 2019. Her goals as City Commissioner are to serve as a voice for the residents of Huntington Woods, act responsibly and with transparency as a steward of public tax dollars, and to provide leadership to maintain city services and programs for the needs of the community today, while also planning for the city’s future.

Michelle is a government affairs professional with a background in economic development, urban planning, and marketing.  Michelle holds a Master of Urban & Regional Planning, a Master Certificate of Real Estate Development and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan. She is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional. In 2016, Michelle was recognized as one of Oakland County’s Elite 40 under 40. She is also a graduate of Leadership Detroit XXXIV.
