ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATIONS

If you would like to request an Absentee Ballot please visit www.hwmi.org and complete the application or visit the Voter Information Center (michigan.gov) and complete the paperless application form.  Anyone that is on the Permanent Voter Application list with the City, has already been sent an application.  If you did not receive one and are on the permanent voter application list, please visit the above-mentioned sites or contact the City Clerk at 248-581-2638.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS

Absentee ballots for Military or Overseas Citizens are mailed or emailed 45 days before each election.  If military or reside overseas, please visit www.FVAP.gov to request that a ballot be sent to you.

Regular Absentee Voters must submit a signed application for every election they would like to receive a ballot.  Ballots are not sent automatically unless on the permanent absentee voter list. (see below for more information) Ballots will be available by September 29, 2022, at which time they will be processed for mailing if an absentee ballot application has been received.  You can request a ballot in person after September 29, 2022.

Absentee Ballot Dates to remember:

Friday, November 4, 2022 by 5:00 p.m. – Last chance to request a ballot via First Class mail.

Monday, November 7, 2022 by 4:00 pm. – Last chance to request a ballot in person.

Tuesday, November 8, 2022 by 8:00 p.m. – Last chance to turn in an absentee ballot.

BECOME PART OF OUR PERMANENT ABSENTEE VOTER LIST

Avoid the lines on Election Day. With the passage of Proposal 3 in November 2018, a reason is no longer required for requesting an Absentee Ballot. If you would like an Absentee Ballot Application automatically mailed to you for every election, please contact the City of Huntington Woods Clerk by calling, 248-541-4300 or emailing, cityclerk@hwmi.org.

November 8, 2022 General Election:

October 24, 2022 - Last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk (168.497)

October 25, 2022 through November 8, 2022 by 8:00 p.m. - In-person registration with local clerk with proof of residency. (168.497)

VOTER ID CARDS

2022 Redistricting Information

As required by law for Michigan's redistricting process, new voter ID cards 
[replaces your old voter ID card and is yours to keep] have been mailed to all City of Huntington Woods registered voters at their registered address, and most should have been received mid May 2022. Please note that districts have changed as shown below, but everything else remains the same.  Please let us know if you have any corrections to your name and address.

If you receive a voter information card for someone that no longer resides at your address, please write that information on the face of the card and place it in the City Hall 24-hour drop box, drop off at the Clerk's office or give it to your mail person to return it to City Hall.  The Clerk’s office will follow up with the voter.

This ID card replaces your old voter ID card and is yours to keep!
